We will be the hardest-working, most-disciplined team in college football.
We will play with passion and relentless effort for as long as it takes.
Gameday on the Boulevard
Gameday is all day long on SMU's beautiful Bishop Boulevard; the headquarters for fun, entertainment, and tailgating. Fire up the grill, enjoy live music from local bands, and mingle with friends. Tailgating is allowed on all SMU surface parking lots, but all the gameday action is on The Boulevard.
A black Shetland pony, Peruna has been present at every football game for over 70 years. In 2012, Bleacher Report named Peruna #2 on their list of "Nation's Best Live Mascots".
Every year students, faculty and alumni come to watch the Homecoming parade on SMU's campus, where floats built by the students are displayed on The Boulevard before the football game.
Back to the Boulevard is a ceremony hosted every year during the first home game of the football season. The ceremony commences with an annual ribbon cutting and speeches from student organizations.
A few hours before kickoff, fans and students line up along Bishop Boulevard as the Mustangs arrive for battle. The team marches down the Boulevard before heading north into the Loyd Center and their locker room.
